Health Outreach

Sewa TT is deeply committed to health and wellness across the nation, with a steadfast mission of delivering essential healthcare and knowledge to individuals who might otherwise encounter obstacles accessing these crucial services. These outreach programmes are a testament to its unwavering dedication to community health, reaching far and wide to touch lives. The services rendered at these events include complimentary medical screenings encompassing blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol levels, vision, dental health, breast examinations, pap smears, prostate evaluations, body mass measurements, ultrasounds, specialist consultations, and guidance on diet, nutrition, and exercise. This extensive range of services has already been made accessible to various communities, including Rio Claro, Barrackpore, Granville, St. Helena, St. Joseph, Sangre Grande, Matelot, and numerous other locations.

The impact of these health outreach events is profound, underscoring the pressing need for lifestyle changes at the community level to combat the prevalence of diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. By bringing healthcare directly to the heart of these communities, we foster a sense of unity and shared responsibility among their members. This approach transforms community residents into a vital support system, empowering them to champion one another’s well-being.

The overarching objectives of our Health and Wellness Fairs are multi-faceted and deeply rooted in the spirit of benevolence:

Affordable Basic Healthcare: To offer guidance and medical attention to those who are economically disadvantaged or face barriers to accessing traditional healthcare services, whether due to convenience or other constraints.

Screening for Non-Communicable Diseases: To proactively screen for non-communicable diseases, identifying potential health issues at early stages, thus increasing the chances of effective intervention and management.

Bringing Care to Rural Communities: To bridge the gap between medical services and rural communities, ensuring that even those in remote areas have access to the healthcare and education they require.

Avenue for Volunteering: To provide a platform for volunteers to actively participate in improving the health and well-being of their fellow citizens, fostering a sense of community involvement and shared responsibility.

These Health and Wellness Outreach events embody the core values of Sewa TT, epitomising our commitment to holistic well-being, inclusivity, and community empowerment.
